R-22 (chlorodifluoromethane) is an HCFC refrigerant used in older residential and commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Production and import of R-22 for new equipment has been phased out under the Montreal Protocol. This product is intended solely for servicing existing R-22 systems where permitted under applicable local, state, and federal regulations. This 30 lb cylinder is packaged for professional HVAC technician use.
R-22 is classified as non-flammable (A1 safety class) and is compatible with existing R-22 system components. The 30 lb cylinder includes a standard 1/4″ flare valve fitting compatible with professional refrigerant service equipment.
In the United States, purchase of R-22 requires EPA Section 608 certification — sale to uncertified individuals is prohibited under federal law.
